NEW RESTAURANT IN BETTERTON

ONGOING COOK OFF The lattice has a fresh coat of blue paint and the Silver Bullet sign is firmly stapled down–yes, there’s a soon-to-be dining spot overlooking Betterton Beach. (The sign below reads, “OPENING SOON IN APRIL.”) No idea what kind of fare will be offered there, but I’d bet money steamed crabs will be prominently featured on the menu. Whatever the offerings, CHESTERTOWN’S DESPERATE DINERS are sure to make the short drive to the nettle-free beach and grab some chow. READERS WRITE to say they will miss the Black Eyed Susan (see previous post).

Betterton
LOG JAMMIN’ I was in Betterton to answer the call for citizens to help that the commisioners announced in the last Kent County News. They are scratching their heads about what to do with the tons of driftwood that washed up recently after a stormy spell. I gathered up as much as I can carry for craft projects. I didn’t see any beach glass, just wood.
