You Can’t Dine Next to this Waste Case Anymore

RUMOR CENTRAL got it right last week. Reiley’s on the River restaurant did indeed pack it up for good. Folks who went there recently hoping for a burger with a side of Chester River eye candy view found the place closed.

DOO-DOO BOO-BOO. If you’ve been to the foot of High Street in Chestertown lately, you probably saw the brightly colored warning sign indicating that on 2.19.08, somebody discovered that 30,000 gallons of untreated sewage somehow made its way directly into the Chester River, so don’t eat the fish. My nose tells me that the spill happened much earlier because the smell of the, er, river was stimulating my gag reflex well before the 19th.

I know who the “unknown pedestrian,” who reported the leak, is. Pictures at 11.
